Car will not fire up, even with starting fluid. Distributor is new, carburetor is new, battery is charged and there is gas in the tank.

Is the new distributor a points unit? Are they clean and set correctly? Do you have spark? What did you set the static timing at?
Which engine do you have?

326 is a good engine. Initial static timing should be six degrees BTDC then once you have it running adjust the points dwell angle to 30.

If the car has been setting a while you may have very low compression. Pull the spark plugs out and spray some fogging oil into each cylinder, or use an oil can to put a squirt or two into each one, then turn it over with the plugs out to spread the oil. Now put the plugs back in. Check that the timing is correct and see if it will fire.

When you try it now does it do anything or just spin over?
