How to put transfer case in 2wd without linkage connected to the shifter?

On most you can just go under the vehicle and move the lever on the side of the T-Case to shift it. Just look at the way the lever moves and block the tires in case you find neutral and the vehicle moves. You may need to put the transmission into neutral to take pressure off the case if it is binding, again block the wheels or set the park brake.
