4WD not working?

After car is driven for a few minutes the indicator light begins flashing as it is switching in to 4wd it does this continus. Upon increasing speed it sounds hollow.

Normally this means there is a code that is related to the transfer case system. So let's start with checking for codes.

Once we know what codes are there we can make a clear determination but the most common cause of this is an encoder issue. I am attaching the info about this below if that is what it proves out to be.

Let us know what codes are there and we can go through the testing needed to prove out what it is. Thanks
