After having a oil changed, I notice for the next few days after starting the car in the morning a puff of white smoke appears with no smell. Someone suggested that I should have my fuel filter change.

The white smoke disappears for the rest of the day

I suspect the oil is more of a gray than white. It's probably oil from worn valve guides. You could try a different oil and it may help.

The fuel filter has nothing to do with any of this. Most brands of oil will be fine. Every once and a while you will run across one that your car doesn't like. Just use a name brand that you recognize.

You said the problem started when you changed the oil so if you want to try to do something about it, try changing it again with a different oil.

Check for both oil leaks from the valve cover and other areas and then check for coolant leaks.
