No problem with the car but I did bring it in with my winter tires and 4 rims but was told the rims were not compatible. So I said use the rims from my summer tires. When they brought my car out after servicing it, I noticed only my summer tires in my trunk minus my 4 rims. I asked the mechanic to put back my 4 rims in the car. He gave me a big smile and said I wanted my rims back? I said yes. While doing so, the desk clerk came out and asked me also why I wanted my rims back. My question is why did they assume they could keep my rims without asking me 1st? Were they planning to re-sell them? I always trusted them in the past but now they have made me suspicious of them. Any honest answer to this would be greatly be appreciated.
Thanks in advance

ANY OF YOUR ASSUMPTIONS COULD BE TRUE

"MISTAKE", WAS PROBABLY NOT ONE OF THEM

MY MOTTO IS:

I CARE ABOUT MY STUFF MORE THAN ANYONE ELSE DOES

ALONG WITH YOUR "TRUSTING", YOU MIGHT OUGHTA PULL YOUR DIPSTICK OUT PRIOR TO LEAVING THE OIL CHANGE PLACE, THIS INSURES IT IS THERE, THE OIL IS NOT THE ORIGINAL BLACK STUFF, IT IS ACTUALLY UP TO THE PROPER LEVEL. DO THIS SIMPLY BECAUSE CELL PHONES OPERATE HUMANOIDS ANYMORE AND REMEMBER MY MOTTO!

ALSO REMEMBER THIS, IT'S PROBABLY THE BEST ADVICE I CAN GIVE YOU FOR VEHICLE LONGEVITY (COURSE, EVERY OWNERS MANUAL HAS TOLD YOU THIS TOO, SINCE THEY STARTED WRITING THEM)

CHECK YOUR OIL LEVEL AND COOLANT LEVEL WEEKLY (YES YOU, NOT "BOB", EVERY 5000 MILES AT OIL PLACE) THIS WILL MOST LIKELY LET YOU KNOW IF SOMETHING "JUST AIN'T RIGHT", WITHIN A WEEKS TIME. ENGINE WEAR/ DAMAGE IS ALREADY DONE WHEN YOU'VE BEEN DRIVING AROUND FOR 2 MONTHS ON ONLY 2 OF 5 QUARTS OF OIL. IT GETS CHANGED, AND OLE "BOB" SPOKE NUTHIN' OF THE "LOW SITUATION" WHEN IT FINALLY GOT (LOOKED AT) CHANGED.

WATCH 'EM NEXT TIME. MR. DIPSTICK DON'T GET PULLED PRIOR TO THE CHANGE. THE OIL PLUG IS PULLED QUICKLY, WHATEVER KINDA JUICE THAT IS IN THERE (WATER?) DRAINS INTO THE PORTABLE 20 GALLON JUG WITH EVERYBODY ELSES.

DON'T TRUST YOUR FLUID LEVELS/ COMPOSITIONS TO BE "JUST FINE" BETWEEN SCHEDULED SERVICE DATES/ MILES.

MY TWO DAILY DRIVERS ARE A 1946 AND A 1977, STILL READY TO GO ANYWHERE AT ANYTIME. THE ONLY SERVICE I SEND "OUT" IS FRONT END ALIGNMENTS. I PRETTY MUCH TRUST NO ONE ELSE WITH MY BABIES!

SORRY BOB(S), YOU OLE LEACH!

Great.

Thank you so much for your reply. I did feel very uneasy after dealing with them for so many years. I will get a second opinion on those rims.

Like you said, not a mistake.

Have a great week-end sir.

HOPE I DIDN'T RUIN YOUR FAITH IN HUMANITY!

I WENT TO U.S ARMY RANGER SCHOOL BACK IN '83 AS AN ENLISTED FELLER. MOST IN ATTENDANCE WERE OFFICERS

THE CLASS STARTED WITH OVER 200 "CREAM OF THE CROP" SOLDIERS WHO WERE ABLE TO PASS THE TOUGH ENTRY STANDARD JUST TO ATTEND

THE CLASS COMPLETED A FEW MONTHS LATER WITH JUST UNDER 70 GRADUATES

SOME GOT HURT, OTHERS DID NOT PASS TESTS, OTHERS JUST COULDN'T HANDLE THE "NO FOOD, NO SLEEP, CONSTANTLY MOVING, AND THE UNFORGIVING FREEZING OF YOUR BUTT OFF, WEARING ONLY JUNGLE FATIGUES IN SOMETIMES MINUS 5 DEGREE WEATHER", SO THEY WOULD QUIT.

WHAT I DID LEARN MOST OF ALL IS THAT REGARDLESS OF BEING DEEMED "CREAM OF THE CROP", WHEN TIMES MIGHT BE HARD, SOMEBODY (MANY) IN THE BUNCH WILL FLAT OUT BOINK OTHERS OVER

THAT IS, I RECKON INSTINCT TAKES OVER AND THEY WILL STEAL YOUR FOOD, TURN ON YOU, LIE TO THE INSTRUCTORS, ETC. ETC, IN ORDER TO "SURVIVE" THE SCHOOL

THE MORAL OF THIS BEING, IF YOU CAN'T EVEN TRUST THE CREAM OF THE CROPPERS, CAN YOU TRUST "JOE SHMOE" OFF THE STREET?

BE CAREFUL!

COVER YOUR BUTT!

WATCH YOUR BACK!

EVIL IS ALWAYS OUT THERE

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU!

Hello Medic.

That is so true, When my gut feeling says something is wrong here, I follow that feeling. As to go back means I will have eyes all over the place.

Thanks also for the tips about the oil stick. I had a Sprint for over 17 years which I had bought from my Mom, already 5 years old, The parts were finally rusting on me so I had to give it up. I was proud to have it maintained for it to become a Vintage car. I plan to do the same with my 2010 Hyundai Accent.

Thanks for all your help and for being honest with my question.
Take care.

Micole

Oh, Medic, Another question

We had tried several solutions for my son's 98 Neon to clean the headllghts from Meguiar's to Off Deep Woods, with no luck.

Any suggestions aside from replacing them?

YES!

1ST OF ALL

YOU NEED A JEEP CJ - I RECOMMEND A '76-'86 CJ-7 W/ 258 6 CYLINDER. PROBABLY ONE OF THE SIMPLEST MACHINES EVER MADE!

A REALLY NICE STOCK/ ALMOST STOCK ONE AT $6-$7 THOUSAND WOULD BE EZ TO MAINTAIN. PARTS WILL ALWAYS BE AVAILABLE. THEY ALWAYS TURN HEADS, DOES NOT HAVE ALL OF THE PESKY BELLS AND WHISTLES THAT COST YOU BIG TIME AS WITH THIS NEWER CRAP. NOT TO MENTION, YOU WILL HAVE FOUR WHEEL DRIVE!

THEY ALSO HAVE "REAL GLASS HEADLIGHTS" WHICH ARE TOTALLY REPLACED FOR ABOUT $25 FOR THE REAL BRIGHT ONES!

BESIDES, YOU WOULD HAVE ACCESS TO ME, I KNOW MY CJs BETTER'N ANY OTHER VEHICLE! "MR. JEEP" IS 37 YEARS YOUNG AND "WILLY" IS 68 YEARS YOUNG. BOTH ARE DAILY DRIVERS AND WILL LAST FOREVER IF TAKEN CARE OF!

OK- FOR YOUR WONDERFUL "PLASTIC" HEADLIGHT LENSES THAT ARE ALL FOGGED OVER

I JUST DID THE ONES ON MY BOSSES' CAR AT WORK (TRIED TO TALK HER INTO A CJ TOO!) THIS TOOK ABOUT AN HOUR TOTAL, THEY LOOKED BRAND NEW WHEN I GOT FINISHED. SHE THOUGHT I HAD REPLACED 'EM!

THIS KIT WAS FROM O'REILLY AUTO PARTS - THIS ONE IS FOR USE WITH A DRILL (I RECOMMEND) THEY HAVE ONE ALMOST PACKAGED THE SAME FOR DOING IT BY HAND (NOT FOR ME!) TAKE NOTE OF THE PART NUMBER, I'M SURE YOU CAN GET IT ELSEWHERE

http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/MMM0/39008/N1843.oap?ck=Search_headlight+lens+repair_-1_-1&keyword=headlight+lens+repair

AS FOR HOW TO USE IT, I'D SAY GO OVER IT FULLY AT LEAST 3 TIMES FOR EACH STEP. NO NEED IN "PUSHING" HARD, LET IT GLIDE SORTA ON IT'S OWN. THIS IS WHAT I WATCHED PRIOR TO DOING IT

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvNSjjTHua4

INSURE YOU TAPE OFF THE PAINT SURFACES, I PUT 2 LAYERS ON (NO NEED IN MAKING THE BOSS MAD), AND USE THE SLOWER DRILL SPEED OR IT WILL BURN THE PLASTIC

HERE'S A PIC I TOOK W/ MY DINOSAUR FLIP PHONE (CRAPPY, BUT YOU CAN SEE HOW MUCH BETTER THE PASSENGER SIDE WAS, BEFORE I DID THE DRIVER'S SIDE)

YOUR TURN - KEEP US POSTED
