My vehicle's engine is clunking at 2,000 rpm mid-engine toward the back. It gets softer or disappears at 30 mph when I press the gas. I changed the oil and filter. I am hoping it is a loose torque converter or something and not a rod. I hope you guys can steer me right. Thanks.

Hello,

This might be a problem with either your motor or transmission mounts. If it was a rod or main bearing I think it would be constant and not go away. It would certainly get worse as the engine RPM's increased. I have included a list of things that it could be if it was the rod or main bearings clunking in the diagrams down below.
Please go through them and get back to us with what you are able to find out, please.

Thanks,
Alex
