Only when the engine is cold there is a humming sound coming from what sound like near the dash when the trans is beyween shifting gears. When it warms up it goes away, otherwise it drives fine.

How long does it last? There is an electric air pump that works when cold for a short period of time.

When they get some age on them, they make a lot more noise. Have it checked by a shop to confirm. And get a bid.

From your description. Without hearing it in person, it is my best guess.
