A clicking sound started a few days ago then.

A clicking sound started a few days ago then stopped. This a.M. It started again and increased in speed when I accelarated. While sitting idle the noise stopped again but then started back up. I have nothing running except the engine when this sound occurs. Could this be a belt?

I'm not sure I understand? Only clicking with vehicle moving? If you think it is mechanical check the wheel bearings and drive joints. That could be dangerous or at the least, leave you stranded?
