Looks like a drain and fill I posted a diagram of where the drain plug is.I also posted the fluid amouint and part number for the fluid.

So what you are saying my saturn astra does not have a spin on transmission filter. Its located in the pan. Is it replaceable?

I posted a pic of the only filter I have found for that transmisssion the internal one that can only be changed if the transmission cases are split. The filter only gets changed if a internal repair is made.I also posted a pic of the only pan I see on the transmission all it does is cove the valve body there is no filter under it.I also havent been able to find a filter for sale at auto zone www. Rockauto. Com etc. So unless you see a screw on one I cant see there isnt a filter to change when you change the fluid.
