The brakes began squeaking when I apply the brakes. I have checked the pads and they are still over about half unused. I have used disc brake quiet on the back of the pads and shims. I have tried the pin lube on the back of the pads and shims. Each time I do this they stop squeaking for about a week then start again. Anyone have a clue why this is happening? Do I need to just replace brake pads and shims with new pads that come with the rubber shims??

Thank you

Hello,

As you mentioned when you use the grease/disk brake quite the noise goes away for some time but come back on afterwards. It is likely the issue is simply bad shims.
Replacing those components should fix the issue.

I have attached diagrams for your reference.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
