Checked all the fuses and relays they seem to be good all of the lights including high beams and dash lights all seem to be working up to full power but when I turn the lights on they don't come on except in the auto on position but very dim and hi beam seem to be super bright like normal do you have any more suggestions ? By any chance could a remote start installation affect my headlights

Anything like a remote start if hooked into the wrong circuit could cause this. Have you checked grounds for headlights like said inprevious answer. It could also be abulb bad, don't buy the ones from china, they don't last and do what you are talking about. Get a name brand bulb. If you thinkt heremote start is doing it unhook it and see if there is a change.

I unplugged remote start checked everything seems to be fine any other suggestions. Refresh only work in auto on position very dim and shut off completely in the on position. I have another Santa Fe 2009 should I try the relays in that one to see if it works. Or no? Could it be the switch?

It cold be the switch or it could be a bad ground in headlight itself and check those. You coul djust switch another relay in your box on the car you have as long as it's thesame.
