I have. About a month ago it started popping out of first gear as I was starting to pull forward from a stop this was the first time it happened and then got steadily worse to the point where it is now and I can't use first at all cuz it won't either go in gear or stay in gear (not sure what one). I have to start in 2nd if I drive it which I'm trying not to as this cannot be good for it.
There is a difference in how the clutch feels but I wouldn't think that it is enough to cause this kind of problem. I was told ny a friend that I have a hydrologic clutch and so u either have a clutch or u don't, they don't really start to fail like normal clutches. I have also hernt told tat something may be bent (teeth or whatever) that is preventing it from going into gear all the way and the safty feature that keeps the years from wearing down is popping o out. I know nothing at all about cars except how to put gas in the tank and air in the tires. I want to keep from getting screwed too. I am bt sure what to do. Do I take u to a clutch shop, a gansmission shop or pay the massive moolah and where they can diagnose where they can diagnose and fix the problem? If I have an idea of what this meant I would know what to do. It seems that when I call any place that just want to see the car, but in my mind either very different probles. Can we not assume what would b the most probable problem withbthe description I have given?
Thanks for the help.

If you have excessive free movement of the gear shift, that can mean the 1st gear is not engaging fully, which I doubt is the cause of the problem.

The transmssion is faulty internally and it can be due to worns synchronizer hubs/sleeve, gear, bearings or even a loose nut. To resolve the problem, the transmisison would have to be rebuilt.
