2007 Ford Focus squeak on passenger side

Diagnosed by dealer as a problem with a "dogarm" Many I spoke to have never heard of it but I did find it on an auto parts site. Dealer quoted around 500.00 for repairs. The squeak started in April '12 and I took it to a backyard mechanic who told me he could find nothing. Over this past summer the squealk became worse but not on highway travel.

It is hard for us to diagnose something like this. When does it squeak? It may be just a front suspension part rubbing that oil or some grease could take care. I'd suggest trying a local garage.
