I have a 2007 Nitro. When I am at a stop light for a few minutes the Brake warning light comes on. It started right after the car had it's yearly state inspection so I know the brakes are okay. What could cause this?

Hello, I'm Danny.

The first thing you should do is check the brake fluid level. Most vehicles have a waning light to alert when the fluid level is too low. Another thing for you to do first is perform a CAN scan. A CAN- Controller Area Network scan will test and retrieve all codes that are stored in your vehicles computer when your malfunction light is on. This scan will test all systems on your vehicle including the brake system you mentioned. Here is a tutorial showing how to perform this scan:

After you perform this scan get back to us with any fault codes and we can then properly diagnose the issues your brake system might be having on your Dodge in case the brake fluid level is correct. Hope this helps and thanks for using 2CarPros.
