After having my car on service for oil change, the oil warning light is flashing after driving for awhile when I stop the vehicle in a trafic light or in my house. I reported this problem to the dealer and they have replaced the oil swith twice but the light still on after my long drive to work or home. The service department in the dealer said that the oil pressure is ok and that GM doesn't calibrate the swithiches well.
What is the spec for the oil pressure for this vehicle?
Does the diagnostic for the dealer make sense to you or the oil pump should be replaced?
Do you
have the same problem?

Try resetting it -see below

OIL CHANGE REMINDER RESET - PROCEDURE 1
The CHANGE OIL (or CHANGE ENGINE OIL) message is displayed when its time to change engine oil, usually between 3000 and 7500 miles since last oil change.
To reset the oil life monitor, turn the ignition switch to RUN position, with engine off. Press the TRIP/OIL RESET button on the instrument panel for 12 seconds. The OIL CHANGE light will start to flash to confirm that system is reset. Reset is complete when OIL CHANGE light goes out.
OIL CHANGE REMINDER RESET - PROCEDURE 2
Engine oil life monitor calculates engine oil temperature and RPM. It indicates when the engine oil is nearly worn out. A CHANGE OIL light on the instrument cluster is illuminated when it is time to change the engine oil.
To reset CHANGE OIL light, press reset switch located behind fuse block access door.
OIL CHANGE REMINDER RESET - PROCEDURE 3
Engine oil life monitor calculates engine oil temperature and RPM. It indicates when the engine oil is nearly worn out. A CHANGE OIL light on the instrument cluster is illuminated when it is time to change the engine oil.
To reset oil life monitor and turn off CHANGE OIL light, turn ignition switch to ON position with engine off. Depress accelerator pedal to wide open throttle 3 times within 5 seconds. This throttle signal will inform the PCM to reset the oil life monitor and turn off the light. If light does not turn off, turn ignition off and repeat

It happens all the time! Often times if an engine has not had regular oil changes and is sludged up, a fresh oil change will loosen crud that falls into the oil pan and plugs up the pick-up or plugs oil return galleries in the engine. It's not their fault, have the oil pan removed and cleaned, along with the oil sump pick-up.
