2006 Mercedes Benz C230 Gear issues

My benz C230 sport 2006 model was leaking gear oil. I had to change the gear oil pump after it was dragging to enter gear or reverse. But now it makes high noise while changing from gear 3 to 4. Please, what cuold be wrong?

Very hard to say with out actually hearing the noise, can you describe it at all?

There is no strange noise. The only thing is that it revs when changing from gear 2 to gear 3. Also, whe gou engage the gear into 1, it jerks forward as if it wants to jump forward and the reverse too does not engave immediately. I have engaged auto mechanics and was told it could be one of the gear leather has burnt or gear oil shortage.

From what you describe it sounds like what is called flaring, this is an internal problem with either clutch packs slipping or pressure problems with the hydraulics, this will have to be tested by a transmission specialist.
