Gas gauge problems

Im afraid that there is a problem with the engine?I have a mercedes c230 year 2006 always put gas for the engine but the gas indicator in the screen still tell me that the car need gas does the problem from the gas sensor in the engine?

Hello,

It sounds like you have a faulty fuel level sending unit.
That sending unit is located on the fuel pump in the fuel tank.
It has a float attached to it, as the fuel level goes up or down the float moves with it and that displays different level on the dash.
Over time the connector for the float can stop working. Which will make the fuel level gauge on the dash to not work.
