Which is better regular oil or synthetic oil

Synthetic oil is superior in exterme cold and extreme hot conditions, conditions that most cars never see, engineers also say it is superior to regular oil on start ups, when engine wear happens the most, with that said, if you want my opinion, regular oil and filter changes at regular intervals (3,000 miles) with conventional oil will get the most mileage out of your engine just as well as using synthetic oil, unless of course your manufacture recomends it for your engine, in that case you should use what is suggested.
