I have a issue with my 06 expedition I need advice on, last month it started blowing the fuses that crank the vehicle then last Monday I went outside to crank it and it wouldn't do anything no click but the lights lit up on the dash fine so I waited 45 minutes tried it again and it crunk right up got to the store and tried to crank it would not crank waited another 45 minutes crunk up again so I drove it to ford and after 3 hours of sitting there he told me that the starter is not getting power to it so I asked did I need a new starter he said no and offered to take me home only to call me back in 3 hours to tell me that the horness that sits on top of the transmission has a bad wire that he has to remove the transmission in order to get to the wiring harness so they can repair it and it would cost me 737.00 and was told they may find other issues while in there can someone please help I don't have that kind of money to throw away.

There are two fuse for this if it' s101 that is blowing there is a pink/wht wire that is going to neutral switch on trans which is probably the one he is talking about. But there is a tsb on this for no start condition if this is a 2 wd truck and the tsb is number6-9-14 which a new starter pigtail is installed. But it's only for 2WD not 4WD. You can also take to a different garage and see if they can/will fix cheaper.

If you mean hornets nest then they could have eaten through the harness and caused it.

It's possible that the harness may h ave worn through if it were bouncing around a lot and not bolted to the trans which they usually are. I do not make phone calls per company policy. Sorry
