Car stalls after driving few blocks. Restarts by itself other times need to pump gas pedal to keep it from stalling out. Check engine light /wrench light comes on when restarted. Drives after restart but poorly. Loss of power hesitation, bucking, when applying moderate throttle, low throttle seems to drive ok. Will drive for a while then stall out again either while driving or coming to a stop or while accelerating. When restarted on first or several attempts check engine/wrench light could be on or off. Changed throttle body, reflashed computer. After driving approx. 1-2 mi. Problem restarts. ABS light on because need to replace module. Dont know if that has anything to do with stalling problem.

Hello,

It sounds like you have a crankshaft angle sensor that is going out here are two guides to help confirm the issue and the crankshaft sensor location below.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/engine-stalls

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Car stalls when left turn signal is turned on only. Right turn signal is okay. Will restart but check engine light goes on and car drives but less power and performance.

Lately my instrument cluster has been going off and on. Although past few days has been on without issues. Then again a week or two ago my radio would go off and on. Now works ok. Lastly my ABS light is on because I need to replace ABS module and harness.

My car stalled on me for the second time. My right exhaust manifold has a leak & smoke comes from it. After driving for a bit my oil meter starts jumping.I assume it's because I'm losing oil. My engine gets really smoky then it's stalls. The 1st time it happened.I let it sit 4 a while & it kicked over. This time it kicked over but wouldn't stay started.I don't know what to do. Should I let it sit 4 a day & try starting or don't bother

Since you said you were losing oil, there might not be any oil in the engine and locked up the engine. Check the oil level to be sure it is full. You might get lucky. Let us know.

Just purchased a 2002 Crown Vic with the interceptor package. Ran fine for about a week. Now stalls 4 or 5 times trying to back up.

2002 crown vic. Idles very high then I put it in gear and it kills. It does'nt want to start again but eventually does, sometimes it kills when I come to a stop sign, other times it does'nt, then the car idles slow and hesitates as I am driving.(Like it wants to die). When it idles high and I come to a stop sign it still idles way to high, if my foot is'nt on the brake at a complete stop I would go right through the stop sign, then as I said it idles low. Any ideas?I am layed off and I can't afford a diagnostic test and labor. PLEASE HELP.

Check engine light? It sounds like your desrcibing a vaccum leak, open hood listen for loud hissing or sucking sound and try to pinpoint it. Check all vaccum lines and let me know.

I would take the air intake off the throttle body and look inside the throttle body to see if there is any carbon built up. If there is, you can buy a spray cleaner that does a good job. Also check the IAC valve. It controls your idle speed. It is located to the center of the engine back toward the firewall. Here is picture of one similar to yours.

Well I finally had someone check the vacuum hoses and they are fine, Also the IAC valve was replaced and that was'nt the problem either. Darn, still open for any more suggestions. Thank you both for trying to help. If either of you think of anything please let me know. Again Thanks.
