SSR throttle body

I see my dads 2006 Chevy SSR is an electronic throttle body. I am going to get the new one from rock auto. When I put it in will I have to get his truck reprogramed. If so Why does it have to be reprogramed. I like learning about cars. I read about the electronic throttle control at aa1car. Com it was interesting. Thanks. The dealer wants 100 dollars to reprogram it but he doesnt know if it has to be reprogrammed. He told me it was 85 to install the throttle body and to get it towork again. Now he said it is 100 dollars I said no I amnot paying that. So I have a call in to another dealer. Thanks for your time and helping me.

You just install it and turn the key to the run position dont start it or touch the gas pedal for about 1 min. Then start it thats your programing it.I also have a 5 percent discount code good till july 1ST you intrested in the code?
