When i put my car in drive it jerks?

I start my car everything fine , but when i shift it to D it jerk alitte hard,i opened the hood to see and when i put in D the motor moves,and when i start driving and the first gear kicks in it jerks the same way ,only in first gear .second kicks in smooth..they told me it could be a sensor..

okay, you have spark.

are you sure you put the correct push rods in there places?? there are 2 different lengths?

that is something you should have looked at removing them. by now, if you missplaced them, there may be valve damage requiring removal of the heads again.

start with a compression test.
