You need to find a good 12 volt source for electricity. There is a handy electrical item calledan, "Add a Tap" which you can find at Advance Auto or Auto Zone. You can take a 20 AMP fuse slot which is not being used, which are still generally hot, and put it in a 10 AMP fuse slot and it gives you a terminal for power. This also gives you the need fuse for the circuit. The only thing left is to ground out the circuit on a bare metal surface. I use any available bolt on dash frame for this purpose.
You can find the diagram for the fuse panel on the back of the fuse panel cover and find fuse slots that may even be populated for accessories you don't have. So, just use an un-used fuse and add the add a tap and get terminal ends and wire to run the circuit and you have your power circuit. You can then find a place that is convienent to mount it.
Make sure that the lighter has only a 10 AMP draw, which whould be on package or in information, as it will blow fuse and you will have to find 15 AMP fuse which there are less of.

Repair Instructions
Cigar Lighter Housing or 12 Volt Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement
Tools Required
J 42059 Cigar Lighter Socket Remover. See Special Tools.
Removal Procedure
Fig. 6: Removing Auxiliary Power Outlet Fuse From Fuse Block
Courtesy of GENERAL MOTORS CORP.
Remove the auxiliary power outlet fuse from the fuse block.
Remove the receptacle:
Look into the receptacle. There are two 3 mm (0.11 in) tab windows 12 mm (0.47 in) from the front of the receptacle. The J 42059 pushes the plastic latches from these tab windows and the receptacle can be pulled straight out. See Special Tools.
Place one side of the "T" portion of the J 42059 into the tab window. See Special Tools. The J 42059 will not fit straight into the receptacle. See Special Tools. Angle the J 42059 slightly for insertion into the receptacle. See Special Tools.
Insert the other side of the "T" into the opposite tab window.
You must move the J 42059 handle toward horizontal to engage the other tab window. See Special Tools.
Use the J 42059 to pull the receptacle straight out. See Special Tools.

If J 42059 tool fails to release the lighter socket from the retainer, perform the following alternate method. See Special Tools.
Insert a small grinding tool with a cutoff wheel into the socket.
Remove the plastic latches in the 3 mm (0.11 in) square windows.
Use the J 42059 as directed above to remove the socket. See Special Tools.
