My heater ad air conditioner only works on hi. Not sure why. Is there a fuse that went out?

Usually the resistor is shot if high only. But look at the plug also for burn/melt. Here's trick to save money. If the THERMISTOR is right on the end of the unit opposite plug, you can try to replace/bridge it and see if that gets it working again. Although the cheap 1's are only 15$ or less. Hey! Penny saved is a penny earned!
