LIFTERS are making noise, especially when just starting engine. Subaru legacy gt turbo wagon manual transmission. Is this an immediate problem or will it wait for 4 or 5 thousand miles until I need to change the timing belt?

Doesn't a Subaru have a rotary engine, though raz? Wouldn't that make a difference? I don't know rotaries all that well.

Ok. I haven't worked on too many Subarus, but most of them I've worked on, I recall them having rotary engines. Nope. This is a horizontally-opposed 4 cylinder. From Mitchell1:
†There are a screw and nut at the valve end of each rocker arm. They are used for adjusting the valve clearance.
