If you smell gas only when you stop at a light or sign what could the problem be?

Check the fuel lines for leaks, under the hood, under the vehicle. Also check evap system, hoses/lines, canister, where applicable. Any applicable trouble codes?

Just wanted to add, going down the road, the airflow around the vehicle will remove the fumes. Sitting still the fumes collect.
