Went to local garage to replace wiper motor. When I left the car was "missing", i.E. Running rough. Went back to garage and they determined it was cylinder no. 4. They then replaced the coil which they just happened to have on hand (for $190 for parts and labor). Question:
can this be a coincidence or could they have tampered to somehow cause this to happen exactly when I left the shop?

Well if it ran fine before and not after then i'd certainly think that. But not much you can do unless you had proior pic of partsan dknew it was messed with. I woldn't go back there again. However all coils for engine are same.
