I recently had the transmission replaced in my 2005 Ford Taurus. I am concerned that the RPMs are higher than they should be when the car shifts into 1, 2, 3 & 4 gears. The trans is an automatic type with the Ford Vulcan engine. What are the proper RPM shift points for this transmission?

That really depends on the amount of throttle applied along with the speed sensor input.

OK, let me put it this way, what are the factory recommended RPM or speeds that the trans changes from 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th gear?

I take it you are saying you think it shifts too late? Or it is slipping(between shifts)? If you give light gas pedal at what speeds does the shifting take place?
