FAILED SMOG TEST BECAUSE A MALFUNCTION INDICATOR LIGHT

I just replaced my battery and took my car to get a smog check it failed due to a malfunction indicator failure the fault they provided is U1403. How can I fix this.

It means you have an implusible fuel level signal, sholdn't have anything for the smog failure. Thing to do for that is change oil and oil& air filters, drive the car for about 15 miles on eway if possible then take it in for a check it will probably pass. For the 1403 it can be a bad pcm, front control module or cluster module or short in wire. Have apro check it with ascanner they can do a better job diagnostics with it. If it fails again then it's maybe a pcm, but not necessarily.
