What does it mean when the theft system light is on?

It means there is an operational error in the security system which happens from time to time. This is what you do. Remove the negative battery cable for 30 minutes and then reconnect it. Use the remote to lock and unlock the doors and the system should be reset. Here is guide to help you as well.
