Hi Guys
I've got a 1.4 fuel injected VW Golf mk1(Rabbit). Everything has been going great up until yesterday. When I tried to start her, the engine fire up, runs for about 2 seconds then dies. I have checked to see that the fuel coming through and that's not the problem. There is spark at the plugs. I've checked under the dash and both relays are working, I can feel them click on when the ignition is turned. I've cleaned every electrical plug that is in the engine bay. I know the problem is not the fuel pump as I changed it about 4 months ago, the relays were changed at the same time. I've checked the fuses and they ok. The car comes with a factory fitted alarm and I've removed the fuse for that in the hope that it was the alarm cutting the engine out, that did not help. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you have spark and fuel to the engine, it wouldn't cut out for you. Are you sure the fuel pressure maintains within the manufacturer's specs? Have you checked the crank sensor to make sure spark isn't cutting out?

Starts, runs & dies is usually due to the immobilizer turning the car off (the Ignition Key is not recognized).
