I have a coolant leak coming from the housing for the water pump. On the passenger side of the vehicle is the water pump. Behind it facing the driver side there is a hole that is leaking out any coolant I add to the radiator. What is this supposed to be plugged with? What part does it need? Hose? Plug?
Does anyone have a diagram of the housing part?
I could only feel my way around to locate it. I put my phone camera through that area to get a better look.
See picture for hole.

That is a vent hole to equalize the pressure inside the pump. You cannot plug it. If you have coolant leaking from it that means the rear seal is blown and you need a new water pump.

The post below from ASE is possible. I would make sure you count 5 bolts on the water pump. If you have 4 then one fell out.

Remove and replace instructions below.

Good afternoon,

The picture did not show. Can you resend the picture?

I attached a picture for you of where the pump mounts and the housing. Can you point or tell me where the hole is located? It may be missing a bolt as a lot of the bolts go directly into a coolant passage.
