2004 Mercedes SL500: How do I remove the Fuel Tank? There is a baffel inside that has come loose and is making noise. I need to remove it and either get it fixed or replace it with a new one.

I would take it to a dealer too much work to do in your own garage.

WOW. Nice response from jlmjhkb86.
Maybe you don't have much of a tool cabinet. Or knowledge. I'm pretty good with a wrench, and was just looking for some additional information. Nice negative feedback though. Thanks.
By the way.I got the tank out yesterday. Did it on my own. In my garage. Thanks for your input.

Hi Eagerquest - I have the same problem on my 2003 SL55 AMG, and contemplating doing the job myself - congrats for getting the tank out! Are there any special considerations/tools required please? I guess you need to remove the rear exhaust sections and drop the rear suspension/final/drive/subframe to get at the tank?

I'd really appreciate your help.

Cheers.
