2004 Mercedes SL500: How do I remove the Fuel Tank? There is a baffle inside that has come loose and is making noise. I need to remove it and either get it fixed or replace it with a new one.

WOW. Nice response from jlmjhkb86.
I'm pretty good with a wrench, and was just looking for some additional information. Thanks. By the way.I got the tank out yesterday. Did it on my own. In my garage. Thanks for your input.

Hi Eagerquest - I have the same problem on my 2003 SL55 AMG, and contemplating doing the job myself - congrats for getting the tank out! Are there any special considerations/tools required please? I guess you need to remove the rear exhaust sections and drop the rear suspension/final/drive/subframe to get at the tank?

I'd really appreciate your help.

Cheers.
