Car keeps cutting out

I have a Land Rover Freelander 2004 and all of a sudden today it has started cutting out while driving it. The engine just completely lost power and I had to pull over quick. I then had to wait for 5 minutes until the car would start again. 2 miles down the road the same happened again and so on. I then got my car home eventually and tried starting it idle, started fine and ran it for about 10 minutes revving the engine frequently. I then switched it of and tried to restart it straight away and again it wouldn't start. Any ideas?

The list of possibilities are long so you need to start somewhere. Check out the above link. When it could not be started, you need to find out what is missing. It could be fuel or ignition spark.
