I have a 2004 ford explorer XLT. There is cold air now coming in the cabin from behind the glove compartment. I pulled the glove compartment and the cold air seems to be coming from some vents at the highest point just under where the air bag is located. I checked on pulling some of the unit apart, but it looked like an all day project. Do you have any suggestions to help me out?

Thanks.

You can't pull any of it apart. The whole dash and complete HVAC housing would have to be removed first. It sounds like the recirculation door may not be closing and the outside intake is letting air out the inside intake. One or the other should be closed at all times.
