Have no spark in cylinders 2&3

My wife went to a national auto parts store to have the battery checked. They came back and said it was bad. Ok fine knew it was fixin to go soon. Then he said let check your alternator. He pull the negative cable off the terminal and the car stalled. When he attached the cable back the car literally ran like poop. I did the following. Checked and changed the cam shaft senor. Checked coil. Checked and changed plug wires. Change battery {knew it had to changed anyway}. After all that cylinder 2&3 had no spark. I pulled the wire harness off the coil and check for power to the coil and no power to two of the four connectors. I at a lost can you help

Bad news you never disconnect the cables from the battery when the car is running, if it spikes when you put them back on it can damage the computer. Also the altenator needs to have 12 volts in order to work too. That test was for the old generator day's. Now with that said how did you check hte coils?

I got the car running on cylinders 1&4. It starts with a little help from a disconnected vacuum hose. The car starts and I did check the alternator with a volt meter and it was charging fine at 13.9 volt at approx 800 rpm. With car car running I had pulled wires 2&3 off the plug and was not firing at all as compared to 1&4.

I agree, proberbly a voltage spike problem, do you have any codes set now, remember that not all codes will set a check light.

You will most likely need a new computer to solve this issue. Stay away from parts guys doing the job of a tech

Well you all were right. The computer was fried. Replace it this morning, gave a key a turn and firing on all cylinders again. Now off to fight the auto parts store on who is paying for it.

Good luck, they should come to the party for you, it was quite unprofessional and a compleate lack of understanding of what they did to caused this problem.

Finally off the stands. Started just fine. Backed out of driveway o half a block check engine light came on. Car would not shift only have 1st gear. Tried using gear selector no luck. Have codes this time p0605 & p0700 could it very possible that this place fried the tcm too? At whits end

Car done thanks to all who had input. The final issue was fixed due to a missed programming issue in the new ecu unit. The company sent a new one and got it in two days
