2003 civic which has done through 3 alternators in 6 months. I have put about 14k miles on during this time and it is winter. Mechanic says the alternator is in a bad location causing this problem. Could there be an underlying problem or does this sound legit.

Could just be cheap alternator's where are they being bought?What brand are they?
