I have a 2003 GMC Z71 pickup truck with 140,600 miles on it. What should the oil pressure gauge read? It is now jumping between 0 and 80 and the check engine light has just come on. Oil level is good, water level is good now, was a little low. Thoughts?

Scanned the computer for code/s and Check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge, if normal replace the oil pressure switch. If abnormal could mean oil pump and engine bearing.
