I have an 2003 F250 Lariat, Turbo Diesel, V8, 6.0. Sometimes when excelerating up a grade there is a sound on the drivers side engine. It's a rubbing or maybe air sucking sound - compression? It is low in tone, but kind of a rocking sound. I took it to Drew Ford but they couldn't tell me what it is. I don't think they could repeat it. Can someone tell me what this could be. I am thinking maybe something with the turbo?

If its intermittent and only happens when accelerating up a grade it could be the turbo working harder. The engine is after all being put under a load. If you havent noticed any performance changes (lack of power, runs rough, etc.) You should be fine. Its hard to really tell you exactly what it could be without having heard the noise.
