My oil pressure warning light comes on only when RPM drops below 1,000. Also, while idling, the steering wheel feels stiff when turning the wheel. Both of only happen when RPM drops under 1,000. All fluid levels are full. Car is 2003 Stratus with 103,000 miles.

Have the oil pressure checked.

Standard value:

At idle : 29 kPa (4.2 psi) or more.

At 3,500 rpm 294 - 686 kPa ( 43 - 100 psi)

Problem could be due to a failing oil pump, pressure switch or there is a fault in the lubricating circuit.

For the power steering, check the power steering pump drive belt. If it is too loose and slipping, the steering would be heavy during idle.
