It has trouble idling especially when it is cold. I checked OBD2 for codes. No codes. Had O2 sensor codes about six months ago but both O2 sensors were replaced and has since been fine. It was idling bad at that time and the O2 sensors did not fix that idling problem although the codes never re-appeared. I changed spark plugs and air filter. I suspect that maybe the IACV is a potential problem, but there are no codes. Any ideas?

You are on the money the IAC valve gets clogged with gunk and causes it not to move which in turn makes the engine stall at idle.

Here is a guide to help you get an idea of what to do to fix the problem.

Just clean it check out the diagrams below.

I changed the IAC valve versus cleaning it and I unbolted the whole throttle body at the intake plenum and cleaned it all out also.I didn’t remove each throttle plate because for me was easier to unbolt the throttle body at the plenum with the three nuts. Car operates fine now. I did notice a little rubbing marks on the iac valve itself but other than that it was dirty but not really looking bad.I suppose it can be bad more than it looks.
