Heating issue

I have 2002 Grand am. I just changed the T-Stat. Heat worked great when it got to temp. Got roughly 190 degrees and then starting blowing cold air. Why?

Check for air blocks in the system. Make sure both heater core hoses are hot when the engine is hot and the heater is on. If they are, check the blend air door. If only one is hot, backflush the heater core.
