2002 Mitsubishi Montero engine swap

hi dear sirs,
I am about to buy an engine for my mit montero 2000. My engine is a 6G72 3.0L and I can get a 3.5 6G75. My question is, would this engine fit in my 3.0. Do I have to change wire harness or support brackets. What is all I have to look for to swap this engine in my montero.
thanks

It should be 6G74 that you are refering to. The two engine uses different system, single cam and twin cam engines and the wireharness etc are all different.

Unless you are able to get a complete set of wireharness with the PCM, engine and transmission, the single engine transplant is not possible.

Hi, you are right it is a 6G74 3.5 L pull out a mit mon sport. Sorry about the misspell.I read here in a message about swapping this engine, but it was not clear for me what were all the mods he had done.
Thanks

If you are able to get a half cut, the job would be easier. You can just transfer the complete lot over with some minor rewiring to get it done.

The transmission is definitely not going to fit.

I guess you would have to forget the idea. I just reconfirmed with a friend and he has some additional information indicating the job requires welding work on the cross members and engine mount brackets.
