I removed the factory stereo from my 02 gmc sierra 2500. After I connected the new cd player it woul not work. No power. Now when I plug the old factory stereo back in there is no power to it either. Also the heater wont tuen on and the digital mileage wont come up. I cant even see how much gas I have. Any idea wheat happened> I also checked all the fuses.

Got'cha!

In an effort to prevent people like me from saving you money on repairs, GM built the Body Computer into the radio. You can not remove the radio and when it does need repair you must go through the dealer and the very expensive repair centers. Then it must be reinstalled and programmed to your truck by the dealer. GM is full of these business practices that makes them very profitable even when they can't find customers for their new vehicles. Without that radio you will also find the cruise control and power windows don't work.
