2002 taurus ses dohc, engine hesitated, lost power and gas smell coming inside the car. When I made it home I noticed gas on the ground. Help this is my comuter car. I changed the gas filter three months ago no problems till now.

Check that the fuel is not leaking from the filter connections, the engine problems may well be due to lack of fuel pressure from the leak, the leak should be easy to locate, let me know what you find.
