My alternator quit will your car shut while driving if the battery dies?

Hello,

When an alternator is unable to charge the battery when the engine is running, it will drain the battery and that will cause the engine to stall. Usually this will happen as you slow down to come to a stop.
The alternator should put out 13.6V to 15.2V to the battery when the engine is running.
