Truck shuts down after it runs for quite awhile and heats up after you wait about 30 mins starts back up and runs again for awhile then shuts down again when shut down you can put gas in carburetor and will start but just run long enough for fuel to be gone have to wait for it to cool down to run for very long

You will need to perform a fuel pressure check. When it dies, do you hear the pump running after it dies? Your fuel pump wont run just by turning the key on, it will only run during cranking, and after.

Your symptoms describe loss off fuel pressure. You still need to get your fuel pressure tested. Is this a 4.3 vortec? If so, its possible the spider injector in the intake is going bad, they are common.
