2002 Chevrolet Cavalier AC Problem

A/C Compressor will not engage, swapped out with used one from savage yard.
Holds Pressure - when high side (where you put Freon) is pressed in, it sprays out Freon.

Any suggestions or comments are very much appreciated.

First, never try to charge the system via the high side. It must be done via the low side.

As far as not engaging, have you tried jumping the low pressure switch to see if that will force the compressor to engage? Are you using gauges to determine high and low side pressures? Have you checked to see if there is power getting to the AC clutch?
