I changed fuel pump on 2002 chevy astro van fired right up drove around a bit smelled wire burning smell turned van off looked for smoke. Started van back up didn, t smell again, but now van won, t start pump does not hum

There are fuses and fusible links that are there to protect this. It's probably a fusible link off your starter or power feed. Also check the maxi fuses in the underhood electrical center.
