My transmission is slipping and getting stuck and the third gear. And as I drive and when it gets stuck in the third gear, the car starts to just stall and starts to lose power. Until the car shifts back in to to its gear.

I have never seen them get stuck in third. When the computer goes to default mode the transmission will stay in 2nd gear. What are the exact code numbers you have?

That code is for third gear ratio error. Do you have a delay or delay bang into reverse? Also sounds like sometimes its defaulting and staying in 2nd gear. When do you have to go back to Lancaster?I am in California myself am a factory trained Saturn tech.

Yes I do have a delay going in to reverse, it takes about 30 seconds to a min to go into reverse. I live in land caster but the car is in la. I just moved out to landcaster and I wanted to drive my car home. With no problem

I Can tell you this anywhere you take most people are going to tell you they need to replace your transmission or take it out and rebuild it.I fixed so many of those transmissions and my prices to fix them are way cheaper then the shops.I have the pressure gauge to test the pressures.I even have the tool to repair the valve body better then new. From the delay in reverse that tells me there is a line pressure issue in the transmission. Which would cause the code P0733 the transmission to slip the delay into reverse etc. The reverse gear in that transmission uses 2nd gear clutch pack for revesre. So more then likely with it not setting a 2nd gear code the 2nd gear clutch piston is good. Its not really a diyer repair unless you want to invest in tools pressure gauge set air compressor to air check clutches etc.

Gm And what is a in car repair? So all thats going on with the car, its a pressure line issue? And the valve body? So is the car drive able to landcaster without it being fixed? If not Ok how much does it cost to fix? Cause I'm on a fixed income and single mom, I really need it done, so me and my kids can get around.

A in car repair means the transmission doesn't have to be taken out to fix it. Most places will probably charge 1200 and up to repair it. Without looking at it I cant tell you for sure what's going on. There are too many variables like loose input shaft nut clutch piston not holding pressure which is what holds the clutchesfor the gears so they ddon't slip.A pressure test would tell me a lot more on what's going on.I usually fix them if its what am expecting for about 400-500. As far as driving it to Lancaster if the problem isn't fixed soon you will do internal transmission damage. When the pressure issues start they can change very suddenly. The pressure can go too high or too low. If your intrested in having me look at it/repair it private message me on here. But I wouldn't drive the car anymore then you have too. It may make it to Bakersfield depending on how its driving. As long as the transmission isn't slipping then you will be OK.I live about 2hrs from LA.

Oh ok I see. What's the difference between slipping and getting stuck? Cause when I drive the car it drives fine, then on the other hand it rev up to the 3 on the speedometer. Then shift in to the right gear, but when it goes it goes. Yes I would like for you to look at, to really see what's going on. When I bought the car, the car place said they put a new transmission in. I only have had the car about 6 months, and the car place said what ever goes wrong they will fix it. But they give me the run around. So I have to get it done my self. But antelope is only 52 miles from la, how far is la to bakers flied?

Slipping is where the rpms go up ad the car doesn't go any faster. Not sure how far LA to Bakersfield. They probably put a used transmission in. Would love to look at it for you.
